Last week our local Bad Rock fire department returned to Deer Park for their annual visit to talk about fire safety and to award students first, second, and third prizes for their art work depicting "fire safety in the kitchen."
Fire fighters also showcased their gear for both wild and house fires. They talked about what to do in case of a fire. Two of the fire fighters raced --and beat-- the clock, donning their gear in under 2 minutes. It was pretty amazing to watch; perhaps the cheering students helped these fire fighters beat their best times. Both managed to put on all the gear, including faceplates, in just over 90 seconds.
We truly appreciate our volunteer fire fighters. Thank you for your service!
