Inclement Weather Information
Winter weather and bitter temperatures are coming! We just want to keep you informed of our inclement weather procedures and where you can find information about school closures.
We always strive to keep school open unless weather conditions are extreme or inhibit the safety of our families and staff or when weather conditions present challenges for our grounds and buildings to be safe for students and staff. Since families provide their own transportation to school, each family can use their own discretion to determine safety getting to or from school during extreme weather conditions.
If and when a decision to close school is made, the district will notify you by phone message, text, email, and on our school website and Facebook page. The closure is also listed on the Flathead County Superintendent of Schools website and will be broadcast on local news and radio stations.
We aim to make these announcements by 6:00 AM, if possible.
If school remains open during below zero conditions we ask for extra care and support from families to ensure that our students stay safe. Please make sure students are adequately prepared and dressed for the conditions.
Students will remain indoors for recess when temperatures are below 10 degrees or when the wind chill factor is below 10 degrees.
We understand that every family’s situation is unique. Please keep the safety of your family in mind when you are making your own personal decisions during inclement weather situations.
